Ji Dong-Won, 20, has reportedly signed a three year deal with Sunderland for approx £2m.

Although the signing nearly hit a snag when Liverpool and PSV were both strongly linked to the forward, he spoke about his love to be involved in the best league in the World and being compared to other great Korean players.

‘This is second time for me to play in England after my trial for Reading in 2007,” Ji told reporters in Jordan.

‘The Premier League is a big stage; every player wants to play there. I chose Sunderland because I felt that they really wanted me.’

Dong-Won, who has scored six times in 11 International appearances is looking forward to playing against Park Ji-Sung and Lee Chung-Yong.

Dong-Won added: ‘I know competition for a starting place will be very hard but I’ll do my best. I want to fulfil what Sunderland expects from me within 6 months.

‘I’m glad that I can now play against Park Ji-Sung and Lee Chung-Yong.’

And there I was wondering why you had a picture of Park. Slightly worried for a second there.
