Hull City and Celtic are queuing up to do battle to try and get striker Steven Fletcher away from Sunderland.

Both clubs are said to be prepared to go to £6million to get their man who cost the Black Cats £12million back when he was good.

But the striker isn’t a patch on what he used to be, mainly down to injuries which has his current strike rate of just three from 17 games.

Sunderland have struggled to convert chances this season and they stare relegation in the face, they need to bring in quality in front of goal but being at the bottom of the table is not going to help their quest.

Hull manager Steve Bruce is a fan of Fletcher but the Scotland striker would need to take a pay cut.

Hope we sell. He’s been useless for a year now, if not longer

Fletcher is gone this window like. If we can replace him then I would get rid. Hes not interested at all

Short will sell to the first bidder, at a cut price of course.

As long as we are balancing the books and turning a profit on paper, the football can get stuffed.
