Halford eyes first team return

Sunderland`s Greg Halford is looking to break back into the first team at the stadium of light. The clubs right back has insisted he needs a un of games for the fans to see the best of him.

Halford told safc.com “I need a run of games, six or seven matches in the team, but the manager wants performances straight away and I haven’t really been giving them”

“I’m out of the team for that reason and that reason alone. I’ve just got to show him what I can do in training and get back in the team.”

“I don’t go out to play badly on purpose, but I am my own worst critic. I criticise myself a lot and maybe I think about things a bit too much. But I think that’s a good thing for me and I only want to make myself better.”

“Its all about the team, that`s the main thing”

“You can`t just look after yourself, you`ve got to look after the team and gee people up before the game, wish them luck and be part of the team.”

Vital Sunderland Says

Halford was dropped from the team just as his performances were improving he had a great game against Derby at the Stadium of Light and he wasn`t too bad against Chelsea. He was then dropped never to be seen for weeks.
