Gray not bitter…

After completing his £750,000 move to Burnley, where he has been on loan for the last few months of the season, Andy Gray revealed that he found it tough on Wearside,

‘It was a tough time for me at Sunderland. But it was a tough time for a lot of the players up there, not just me. It was a terrible season in terms of results and when you are losing all the time, it’s never going to be easy.’

The former Sheffield United striker had a torrid time infront of goal for Sunderland, as did his fellow strikers, as he struggled with only 1 goal to his name after 22 appearances for the Black Cats.

However despite his short and disappointing spell on Wearside, Gray has no qualms with Sunderland for moving him on,

‘It’s a great club but it just didn’t work out for me. I wish them all the best and I’m already looking forward to the game next season and seeing the lads again.’

After having scored a few goals already for Burnley, there is little question that, while he failed to cut it at the top level, Gray will be considered a potent threat when Sunderland take on Burnley in next season’s Championship.

good signing for burnley and at a really good price too at £750,000, he can score goals in the championship

We will have to watch that game with a close eye. What chances he gets on the (settle the old) scoresheet ?

I reckon he will be one of the top goalscorers in the championship next season. So long as he scores in the first couple of games to ‘up’ his confidence.
