Good Results – Need To Capitalise

Unfortunately all Sunderland fans spent this weekend not relaxing about their league position but keeping an eye out on other teams results.

It is a common thing for Sunderland fans as we have to rely on the poor teams around us at the bottom to keep us from entering the bottom three.

Burnley lost to Arsenal at the Emirates on Saturday as they fell to a 3-1 defeat, Hull were smashed 5-1 by Everton this afternoon, and Wolves lost unluckily to a poor Manchester United.

The one result that could have went better for Sunderland could have been West Ham not losing to our next opponents Bolton on Saturday.

However, if Sunderland can grab their first league win since November against the Trotters we can climb above both Bolton and West Ham in the league.

The one thing going for Sunderland in this awful campaign is our goal difference being worth another point compared to other teams. Also, on paper we have a squad that should be able to turn things around and not panic as other teams may going into the final games of the season.

Tuesday evening will be a massive indicator as to how our season will go and if we can beat Bolton we have the six point gap from the bottom three and a healthy goal difference.
