Goalkeeper Marton Fulop has sealed his move to join Roy Keane at Ipswich Town for an undisclosed fee this lunchtime.

Fulop joins the band of ex-SAFC players at Portman Road and will help the club push for promotion for the Championship.

Keane signed 6’6′ Fulop from Spurs in 2007 and he went on to make 50 appearances for the Black Cats, including some superb shot stopping performances.

With Craig Gordon injured, Steve Bruce is now down to the untried duo of Trevor Carson and new signing Simon Mignolet. He is wrestling with the idea of thrusting one of the pair into the first team or loaning a proven Goalkeeper from the Premier League.

Sunderland have been linked for moves for David James (now at Bristol City) and Man City’s reserve, Joe Hart.

Vital Sunderland wish Marton Fulop all the best for the Championship season ahead.

Surprised you let him go, as he did well when you loaned him to us at the end of last season. Don’t think you have any chance of getting Joe Hart on loan, as he is a genuine contender for the jersey at City this year. Best of luck for the new season boys and looking forward to two good games with you. Lol.
