Former Sunderland striker Anthony Stokes has re-joined Hibernian on loan from Celtic.

The 27 year old has signed up at Easter Road until the end of the season after falling down the pecking order at Celtic Park according to Talksport.

Stokes is looking to get back playing first team football after only managing two games for Celtic so far this season, the last time he was with Hibs he managed to score 24 goals in 48 games.

Stokes joined Hibs originally in August 2009 after only managing five goals for the Black Cats in his 18 month stay.

Hibs head coach Alan Stubbs said: ‘We are excited about Anthony coming here and I think he will prove to be a real asset.’
