Sunderland striker Steven Fletcher has signed a deal with French club Marseille that will see him stay in France until the end of the season.

The 28 year old flew out to the Ligue 1 club this morning in the hope of completing a deal and that deal has been finalised tonight.

Fletcher has made just 11 Premier League starts for the club since the start of the season and has netted four times.

Wahbi Khazri arrived from Bordeaux on a four-and-a-half year contract this week, but Allardyce missed out on Swansea frontman Andre Ayew.

Fletcher cost Sunderland £12 million when he signed from Wolves in the summer of 2012.

Not rated by me anymore but he is a striker and we need all the help we can get up front

Ultimately, he was a disappointment but there were some good moments. If we had put in more crosses you would have expected more goals. he scored the goals at the start but injuries seemed to plague him. Good luck in France.
