Peterborough United manager Darren Ferguson watched his side go down 2-0 to Sunderland on Tuesday, but refused to blame injuries for the defeat.
Posh suffered a blow after just 11 minutes when Lee Tomlin had to go off with a foot injury, and then on top of that, in the second half they also lost the services of Captain Tommy Rowe due to a knee injury
But Ferguson was not in the frame of mind to blame the defeat on injuries, he told the Peterborough Telegraph after the game: “Sunderland deserved to win.
“There`s no doubt in my mind about that.
“Of course the injuries, particularly the one to Lee so early in the game, didn`t help, but I can`t use that as an excuse. We have players capable of covering for all positions.’
