We are slowly getting to grips with what we sadly witnessed, but half expected, on Sunday with England losing 4-1 to the hands of the Germans.

How do we avoid this happening? How do we prove to the World or Europe in 2012 that we have the best football league in the World for a reason? Surely it is time to drop the old players who are not producing for England and freshen it all up with some upcoming youth.

Cappello said today he feels the talent coming through the ranks is not good enough by saying: ‘ ‘Where are the young players? The best are in the U21 side but they are just not good enough at the moment. There are probably just two or three who would join us in the next six months.

‘Adam Johnson and Kieran Gibbs at Arsenal. Then there is (Michael) Dawson, (Gabby) Agbonlahor and (Bobby) Zamora. And (Owen) Hargreaves.

‘No, some are not so fit and not so young. We also hope Theo Walcott will recover fitness. And then there is Jack Wilshere.’

There is also the chance for Sunderland winger and creative midfielder Jordan Henderson who Cappello has watched many times and also performed well in the U21 & U21 set up.

Henderson would provide great cover on the right hand side and has adapted to the Premiership as well as any experienced foreign midfielder last season.

Henderson, 20, certainly has the potential to be included in the next set up and with another strong season he can only build on his talent and earn his place.
