Ellis Short has spoken on the offical website Official website about how well things are going at his club this season.

Although we lost 0-2 against Liverpool yesterday afternoon he is still impressed by the players, management and most importantly the fans.

He was delighted to see a packed Stadium of Light on Sunday and is hoping for more sell-outs before the season ends. We have 4 more home games, all against teams below us in the league that Short described as ‘all winnable’.

Short added: “When that stadium is full it’s an intimidating place to play, it makes the team play better, it causes us to win more, to get more Premier League points, to finish higher up the table and therefore earn more TV money and that’s the financial impact.

“It makes a statement, we’re at home against Liverpool, it’s being shown around the world, and what the world will see is a packed stadium of passionate supporters and the world will get the message that this is a serious, serious football club.”

Short was also very keen to emphasise how important finishing in the top ten is in his objectives handed to manager Steve Bruce. The American owner also touched on how massive the return of the injured players will be and how well we have coped by having a bigger squad this season.

All very positive noises coming from the Texas tycoon and if we can get over this recent blip and finish strongly who knows what next season may bring!
