Sunderland have tonight confirmed the captures of Middlesbrough striker Ashley Fletcher and Cardiff City’s Lee Camp.

Middlesbrough striker Fletcher heads to Sunderland on a loan deal until the end of the season and the 6ft 5in player becomes Chris Coleman’s fourth signing of the window.

The 22 year old Manchester United academy product has also taken in loan spells with Barnsley and West but made the switch to the Riverside Stadium last summer.

Speaking to the Official Site Coleman said of his capture.

‘Ash has experience at this level and in the Football League. He`s played for big clubs and in big games. He`s a physical presence and a handful for defenders. More importantly he wants to come here, progress and fight with us.’

In other news, 33 year old goalkeeper Lee Camp heads into the club on a loan deal as well.

The experienced stopper has over 400 career appearances to his name and Coleman believes that his experience will be key to us in the remainder of the season.

‘Lee is a huge personality who has been there and done it at this level. He`s an experienced goalkeeper and has been here before with Rotherham, so knows what it takes to get us where we belong.’
