Derby Day Countdown

Well, The Tyne/Wear Derby is officially next week and the tension is building.

The fact that both teams are becoming desperate for a win makes this particular match another huge one. The Magpies are struggling at home which coupled with our solid defending makes me more nervous. We should have a great chance of winning..but you just know the Black & Whites will raise their game wanting to shove the taunts of last season down our throats. I’m really not sure how this one will turn out at this moment.

I hate Derby matches. The pain of defeat just about outweighs the joy of victory and the build up is horrible in the few days and hours beforehand. I’ve no qualms in saying i’d take a draw every time, especially away from home.

Still not much banter to note at work..people are still too tense I think.

Another thing to note is this will be Darren Bent’s first Derby match. He will be well up for it and desperate to score at the Sports Direct.
