Reports published in the Daily Mail today state that Sunderland have had a £12m bid accepted for Peter Crouch.
The paper also reports that owner Ellis Short is willing to meet the £70,000 a week wages demands of the England international striker.
However, The Sun reports that Fulham will move for Crouch as Bobby Zamora looks set to leave the club. Crouch apparently has a preference to stay down south, so could be the front runners for the striker`s signature.
The Daily Mail are also reporting that Steve Bruce is interested in signing Manchester City`s former Newcastle United striker Craig Bellamy. With Emmanuel Adebayor set to move to Eastlands, he will join a squad that has a large number of attackers, including Robinho and new signings Carlos Tevez and Roque Santa Cruz, so Bellamy could be deemed surplus to requirements.
The 30-year-old Welshman joined City in January for £14m and it remains to be seen if Bruce would be willing to offer near that amount.
