Danny Collins looks set for a £4m move to Stoke City.

In a move first reported by Sky Sports, the current club captain looks set to follow his predecessor in a move to the Potteries.

Collins has started the season in the centre of the defence alongside Anton Ferdinand, but with John Mensah awaiting a visa and Paulo Da Silva impressing Bruce on Monday night against Norwich and in training, Collins seems to have been deemed surplus to requirements.

However, the reigning Supporters Player of the Season is also the club`s only back up left back and with Sunderland travelling to Stoke tomorrow; it seems unlikely that a move will be completed today.

If Collins does join Stoke, he will be surrounded by familiar faces as former team-mates Whitehead, Liam Lawrence, Danny Higginbotham and Rory Delap are already at the club.

With the transfer window closing on Tuesday, it looks like Steve Bruce will be busy over the next few days.
