The referee for this Saturday’s game at Tottenham is Merseyside based Chris Foy.

15 games

53 yellow cards

8 red

The last time Foy took charge of a Sunderland game was in September when he was the man in the middle for the game against Swansea at the Stadium of Light.

That afternoon the game finished 0-0 but there were four yellow cards and a red shown. Billy Jones and Lee Cattermole were the two Sunderland players who received yellows while for Swansea, Ashley Williams got one and Angel Rangel got two and therefore a red in the 81st minute.

This season, Foy has been in charge of 15 games in all competitions, yet he has still managed to show a massive 53 yellow cards and eight red.

Foy’s assistants on Saturday will be Stuart Burt and Adam Nunn while the fourth official will be Simon Hooper.
