Cattermole has been out injured since our victory against Liverpool in October with a cruciate ligament tear in his knee.

We have won one game since his injury and he has become an important part of Steve Bruce’s team as they look to move away from the bottom three.

The England U21 centre midfielder had declared himself ready for the FA Cup 4th round match last weekend but he suffered another setback in training just days before the game.

It is vital for Sunderland to get Cattermole in the middle again and use his vision, determination and fighting spirit as we look to end our horrible run of form that has seen us win one in the last 13 attempts.
