Birmingham City have extended the loan spell of Sunderland’s Will Buckley until the end of the season.

The Blues official website says boss Gary Rowett had originally signed the winger up until 11th of February, but now he will remain longer.

There seems to be no future for Buckley at the Stadium of Light under current boss Sam Allardyce but the 26 year old is under contract until the summer of 2017.

But Sunderland will almost certainly listen to any offer that City have to make should he impress at St Andrews. So far Buckley has made two appearances for the Championship side and last time out he scored in the 3-0 destruction of Ipswich Town.

Buckley has previously been out on loan with Leeds United but failed to impress the powers that be enough to see them make an offer.
