The winger has made just nine starts for the Black Cats since Gus Poyet signed him from Brighton 18 months ago for a fee of £2.5 million.
Buckley’s agent Clive Hart says that the likely destination for Buckley would be Birmingham City although nothing has been confirmed.
One thing is for sure, the player has no part to play at the club under current manager Sam Allardyce.
Hart said to the Chroniclelive website: “It is very likely that he will leave Sunderland.
“At the moment, we are examining several offers and we will see what happens.”
