Sunderland boss Steve Bruce has targetted 2 points per game as an average in the next quarter of the season.

Over the next 10 Premier League matches, Sunderland face just one of last season`s top four with Bruce taking his side to former club Manchester United on Boxing Day.

Bruce told the Sunderland Echo:

‘In this next quarter of the season, there`s games we can go and win and we must make sure we do well,” said Bruce.

“That has to start with Everton.

“We`ve got a horrendous record in our history against Everton, so that has to change for a start.

“Then we`ve got a run of games that you look at and think can we get 19 or 20 points from the next 10 games?

“If we can do that, then it sets you up for a fantastic season ahead.”

It is time to show that we can perform across the board and give it a good go this season no more 14 game runs and every away game not showing up from the bus till half time!
