SkySports News are reporting this morning that Sunderland have made an enquiry to Wigan about acquiring the services of Wigan winger Charles N’Zogbia.

It is thought that Birmingham City are also strongly interested and are rumoured to have had an £8M bid turned down previously and it would probably take an eight figure sum for Wigan to consider parting with him.

Bruce may be ready to begin another bidding war with his former club after a long transfer saga last pre-season over Lee Cattermole, which ended in success for Bruce.

The former Newcastle man, N’Zogbia is comfortable on both wings and had a good season last term. He would be a handy acquisition for a Sunderland squad that lacks pace and invention on the flanks.
