According to reports this morning, Sunderland are going to be without Wes Brown for the derby with Newcastle at the weekend.

The Sunderland Echo reports that Brown has a knee injury picked up before the international break when he lasted a little over ten minutes of the 1-0 defeat.

The 35 year old has been unable to train since picking up the injury and chances are he will be out of action for a few weeks.

The derby on Sunday will be Dick Advocaat’s second game in charge since taking over from Gus Poyet.
