Defender Titus Bramble has revealed that he has no intention of leaving Sunderland as the final 12 months of his contract wind down.

The 31 year-old centre-back came on for the injured Carlos Cuellar during half-time of Saturday’s draw with Liverpool and has since admitted that he is keen to remain a Black Cat.

With off-field issues and injury problems blighting Bramble’s 2011/12 season, the former Ipswich Town, Newcastle United & Wigan Athletic is desperate to make up for lost time on Wearside.

Speaking to The Shields Gazette, Bramble re-iterated his desire to stay at the Stadium of Light:

“Of course I want to stay. I`m very happy up here, and I would like to stay,’ said Bramble.

The former England U21 international did however admit that his mission would be made harder by the number of centre-halves at the club: “The challenge for me is to play as many games as possible because we`ve got four or five centre-halves, and four of them are over 30.

“I don`t think any of us will play a full season – that`s just nature.

“For me, it is just a case of keeping my form together and hopefully getting a run of games.”
