Titus Bramble offically became a Sunderland player today in a three year deal for an undisclosed fee.

Bramble, who played under Bruce at Wigan won Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year in 2008-09, will hope to start against Leicester at the end of the month after recovering from a foot operation.

Steve Bruce said: ‘Titus was absolutely outstanding for me at Wigan. He matured into a very, very good player, so there was absolutely no hesitation when the chance came to bring him to Sunderland.

‘He was certainly the right player at the right price, and this is a great deal for the football club.’

In other news, Marcos Angeleri has finally been granted his passport after weeks of waiting to be given permission to play for his new club.

Angeleri, will be looking to make his SAFC debut against Hull City tommorow after taking part at the Academy with pre season training before they all flew out.

Steve Bruce told the Shields Gazette today: ‘It’s good news and it’s great for him because he needs to work as possible with us.

‘It has been a bit of a culture shock for him coming over and seeing what English football is all about but he is a top quality player and he will adjust.

‘The reports we’ve had on him from Argentina were all outstanding and he is a player who will bring something extra to our squad.’

Good hardworking players who know how to get the job done. We hopefully will see a defence that is hard to break down this season and just let Bent and co do what they do best hopefully we will still be beating the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Spurs.
