Bradford City boss Phil Parkinson was delighted after watching his side outperform Premiership Sunderland to go through to the quarter finals of the FA Cup.

After brilliantly beating Chelsea in the last round, the Bantams were soon at it again when they took the lead in this game after just three minutes.

Bradford wanted the win more than Sunderland did and after a poor showing in the second half, Bradford struck again giving the visitor a mountain to climb.

Speaking to the BBC after the game, Parkinson said: ‘I am obviously delighted with the way we played.

‘We did the right things in the right areas of the pitch. Defensively we were outstanding today.

‘There is always a danger because the expectancy might have been we would win this one after beating Chelsea but we have kept that underdog spirit. It was a good, old-fashioned cup tie, a really good advert for the FA Cup.’

Parkinson is hoping for a tie against Manchester United in the next round and viewers will be able to see if he gets his dream when the draw for the quarter finals takes place on Monday evening.
