But despite a good draw at the Britannia Stadium, other results saw the Black Cats drop into the bottom three. Both Leicester City and Hull managed to pull off wins that has left Advocaat’s men in trouble but the boss can still see a way out.

He told reporters: “I still think we need six points (to stay up),” he said. “So we still have to win two games.

“In our last game, Crystal Palace played excellently to beat us 4-1, but they`ve since lost to West Brom and Leicester. It`s a little bit strange.”
