It’s being reported that striker Fabio Borini has now completed his move from Sunderland to Italian side AC Milan and we are being linked with a move for Aiden McGeady.

Sky Sports reported this afternoon that their sources understand the deal has now gone through, although it must be said at the time of writing this it hasn’t been confirmed by Sunderland.

They report the fee as being £5.3million for the 26 year old and he leaves the club having made 24 appearances last season but only returning two goals and two assists.

Having been with us since 2015 following spells at Bologna, Chelsea and Liverpool amongst others, his time in the Premier League hasn’t been a great success to be fair so he’ll be looking for an upturn in fortunes in Italy now and if the fee is accurate, hopefully it’ll be wisely reinvested by new manager Simon Grayson as we look to rebuild.

In other transfer news the likes of the independent.ie are speculating that Grayson will attempt to make Everton winger Aiden McGeady his first signing.

The Republic of Ireland international was in good form for Preston last season, scoring eight times and providing nine assists across 34 matches and the 31 year old only has one year remaining on his deal at Goodison Park.

Before Grayson’s arrival at Sunderland the speculation suggested he was after a permanent move for McGeady, so that naturally switches to a move to the Stadium of Light now.

With a rumoured small transfer budget though, it’ll depend on what kind of fee Everton are looking for you would imagine.
