Steve Bruce’s former number two, Eric Black will take charge of Sunderland for Sunday’s game against Wolves.

Despite heavy media speculation that Martin O’Neill will succeed Bruce in the near future, the club have announced that Black will be in charge at Molinuex.

Speaking to The Official Site, Black said:

‘It is important that everyone is focused on the game and prepares in the right manner so that’s what we’ll be concentrating on today and tomorrow.

‘Naturally it’s a difficult time for everyone at the club but we have to be professional and get on with the job in hand.’

According to a number of North East-based journalists on Twitter, O’Neill should be appointed by this afternoon. Vital Sunderland will keep you in the loop, as ever.
