Black Cats Become Top Dogs

When I looked at the half-time scores on Sunday I was amazed to see Sunderland winning away from home again but also to see Newcastle 3-0 up against W.B.A.

The abuse from the local enemy was already being prepared with banners and texts and tweets saying ‘Always in our shadow’. However, the day took a turn for the best as Newcastle threw away three goals to Somen Tchoyi and fell from 9th to 12th in the league.

The 3-0 victory at Upton Park was a great result but to jump four places and claim an extra £3.2m in prize money was just icing on the cake.

Three seasons in a row we have finished above Newcastle United and we had 11 first teamers out and went on a run of nine games without a victory.

It is going to be an interesting summer with both clubs looking to spend a lot of cash on new recruitment but as long as we spend the money wisely we can aim for a top eight finish next season.
