Sunderland`s second game of the season is against Birmingham City at St Andrews.

This will be tough test for us. Birmingham are a team that are hard working and well organised. Bruce will have them fired up and they will be desperate for their first points of the season.

Birmingham City Team News:

Birmingham will be without Damien Johnson (hamstring), Matin Taylor (stomach muscle tear) and Rafael Schmitz (achilles)

Player to watch: Mikael Forssell

The Finn has been on fire in preseason and scored on Saturday against Chelsea. Hopefully McShane and Nosworthy will have the better of him.

Sunderland Team News:

Sunderland have only one injury Grant Leadbitter is out with a hamstring injury for around three weeks

Player to watch: Paul McShane

Hopefully he will be able take his outstanding form from the Spurs game to St Andrews.

part time fans? 2 record breaking relegations in 4 years and we still average over 30,000 in England’s second division, more than most Premiership clubs do. I dont know who you support Paulmac, but i bet you cant claim that type of blind loyalty. its about time we got something to cheer about, and i dont know why you seem so bitter when we finally do.
