The away game against Birmingham was nail biter to the very finish.
Stern John scored a last minute Equaliser to send the travelling fans home happy.
The first goal of the game was a Sunderland own goal by Paul McShane the defender got in the way of Kelly`s wayward header only for it to beat Gordon.
Sunderland then should have had a Penalty. Connolly was hauled down by Djourou (are you blind ref).
Sunderland replied in the second half with goal from Michael Chopra. Etuhu`s header forward was meet by Chopra on the half volley in spectacular fashion. His left foot shot flew in.
Birmingham managed to get themselves back in front with a great finish from the substitute O`Connor. It was their only real chance of he game.
Sunderland then should have levelled when Edwards made a great run and crossed to John only for him to hit the cross bar.
Sunderland then got the goal they deserved. Down to ten men with Edwards going off with a hamstring injury. Stern John levelled when Wallace`s free kick was saved only for John to tuck away the loose ball.

Match Comment
A good result for us, I expected it to be tight but I am pleased we at least came away with a point. Birmingham seemed to score from their one and only chance and were lucky with their first goal.
It a shame that Edwards looks to have a hamstring injury he could be out for around 6 weeks.
