The away game against Birmingham was nail biter to the very finish.

Stern John scored a last minute Equaliser to send the travelling fans home happy.

The first goal of the game was a Sunderland own goal by Paul McShane the defender got in the way of Kelly`s wayward header only for it to beat Gordon.

Sunderland then should have had a Penalty. Connolly was hauled down by Djourou (are you blind ref).

Sunderland replied in the second half with goal from Michael Chopra. Etuhu`s header forward was meet by Chopra on the half volley in spectacular fashion. His left foot shot flew in.

Birmingham managed to get themselves back in front with a great finish from the substitute O`Connor. It was their only real chance of he game.

Sunderland then should have levelled when Edwards made a great run and crossed to John only for him to hit the cross bar.

Sunderland then got the goal they deserved. Down to ten men with Edwards going off with a hamstring injury. Stern John levelled when Wallace`s free kick was saved only for John to tuck away the loose ball.

Match Comment
A good result for us, I expected it to be tight but I am pleased we at least came away with a point. Birmingham seemed to score from their one and only chance and were lucky with their first goal.

It a shame that Edwards looks to have a hamstring injury he could be out for around 6 weeks.

Chopra looked fantastic, what a finish. Is he new for you guys, where did he come from!?

  • Vella says:

We signed Chops from Cardiff for 5 million last month. Your right It was one hell of a goal.

  • Simone says:

I think there’s something Sunderland fans ought to know. I was sitting infront a few of the Sunderland fans there must have been 4-5 and throughout the match all I could here was Yorke slagging off Keane. Obviously many Birmingham fans heard what he was muttering and that started the song of Keane being a b*stard. Also since when the hell did football get invented on Wearside? You were singing some strange songs!

  • Simone says:

Also the ref was awful almost as bad as this reporter. It was’nt even a penalty and clearly you’re the blind one as Djoura was’nt even in the box you *****.

  • Vella says:

Your right Simone the ref was awful it should have been a penalty. Sunderland should have won the game easily 4-1. Birmingham’s first goal was lucky, John hit the bar and Connolly was denied a pen, Chops scored to class goal and John made sure we at least got a point. Oh and What have Birmingham and a pencil got in common ? They have only got 1 point.

  • ClaireH says:

The ref must have been blind. A great fight back even if the ref was all for them.

  • ClaireH says:

Oh Chopra’s Goal was mint. Goal of the season ?

  • KEV1N says:

Do I smell sour grapes Simone
