On-loan forward Nicklas Bendtner says he may not necessarily join Sunderland, even if the opportunity arises.
The Arsenal forward has admitted that he can ‘never say never about Sunderland’, but his latest comments make a permanent move look unlikely.
That news might play into Martin O’Neill’s hands wit the Denmark international proving incredibly inconsistent despite flashes of brilliance.
On top of that, the big striker would certainly be at the top end of Sunderland’s already-inflated pay scale.
Speaking to Danish website Sporten, Bendtner said:
“Never say never about Sunderland, but it is not certain I`ll be there even if the opportunity arises.’
Bendtner continued:
“About Arsenal. Of course I`ll have to have a talk with the club about it [my future], but it is not where my first priority is going to be. I think I have been pretty clear about it.”
One striker Sunderland are being linked with though, is Lillestrom’s Icelandic international, Bjorn Sigurdarson.
According to talkSPORT, the Black Cats will scrap it out with Everton and Reading for the forward’s signature.

Oh dear.. please keep him folks.
We’ll have to wait and see, but he’s not an O’Neill sort of player I fancy. I doubt he’ll be your problem much longer anyway Sajit!
