Despite all the reports that have said Sunderland are after Andre Ayew, there are reports today that say that is not the case.

Sky Sports say that Allardyce has insisted that he is not trying to sign Ayew, but he is now concentrating on bringing in an attacking option.

Earlier in the week Big Sam said he was looking to bolster his side up front and at the back even though the club had signed Jan Kirchoff, Steve Harper and Dame N’Doye.

Yesterday, Lamine Kone was brought in to add something to the defence and now Sam’s interest will be turning to recruiting a striker, but he says that there will be no move made for Ayew.

He said: ‘There’s been no contact between us and Swansea for us to make an offer.

‘We haven’t made an offer to them for that, and I don’t think Swansea would want to sell him. I think that’s a bit of speculation on the media’s behalf.

‘I can’t say any more than that because he’s a Swansea player. We are not allowed to speculate any more on that in case we get fined.’

Sunderland do seem to be wanting to bring in players from abroad, rather than at home.
