Sam Allardyce has said that he is not sure that linked French international Mathieu Debuchy would be allowed to leave Arsenal for Sunderland.

Debuchy has been linked with a few Premier League clubs that are said to be interested in his services and Sunderland are one of them.

The player has not played since November and is looking for first team football to boost his chances of getting in the French international squad for Euro 2016.

Big Sam has confirmed that he has made an enquiry about the player according to Goal.com, but he is not sure that Wenger really wants to sell.

He said: “I am not sure he wants to leave Arsenal or that Arsene Wenger would sell him.”
